ST MARGARET'S CHURCH
The Theologian’s bible fell open next to me in the pews and there inside were two black and white photographs. The teacher explained they were his beloved parents. His mother had died a few months before. He told me a bible verse that had become important during this time, “Psalm 90:12 (New Revised Standard) So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.” I found myself remembering this recently during a run of funerals. As we enter a season of mellow fruitfulness and autumn unfolds with gratitude I wonder what it might mean for us to use the psalmist’s plea as a way into prayer?
